Does Lots Of Sex Change a Vagina’s Size?

Throughout the years, there are various misconceptions about the lady’s love canal or the vagina. Men, as well as women, believe that the vagina has a natural pungent smell, and the labia, which is the inner and outer folds of the vulva, has a similar shape for each woman. The most well-known myth about the vagina which several traditional people assume is that excessive sexual intercourse can alter and influence the appearance and size of the vagina.

The vagina is the elastic, muscular member of the female reproductive system that connects the vulva to the cervix. Numerous people misapprehend the vulva, which is the visible portion of the female genitalia that composes the labia majora and labia minora, clitoris, urethra, and the vaginal opening, as the vagina. A vagina is a flexible passageway which can increase in size for any penis penetration, hold tampons, and serve as an exit point for newborn babies.

Does extreme engagement in sexual intercourse with several partners influence the size of the vagina?

The vagina and the vulva experience changes over time. Females have a small and tight vagina, and their inner labia is practically non-existent throughout the pre-puberty stage. Once they reach sexual maturity or their puberty, their vagina enlarges, and lubrication starts. The size of the vagina changes anew when women engage in sexual intercourse frequently.

According to Dr. Michelle Tham Metz, obstetrician and gynaecologist from New York, sex expands the vagina and extends the size of the vaginal opening on the first sexual contact, but it restores its original size after the encounter. The hymen, a membrane that embraces the vaginal opening for some women, breaks during sexual intercourse and causes the size of the hole to expand.

Some women experience pain and soreness from the intercourse when the vaginal skin overstretches. When pregnancy occurs, the vulva will undergo permanent changes — darkened labia, stretched skin, and dilated but a relaxed vagina. According to Dr. Suzy Elneil from the University College Hospital, London, the vagina will swell and widen after delivery, but it will reduce after a few days. Meanwhile, the appearance of the vagina will not return to its original form after childbirth.

Furthermore, the blood flow in the vaginal area stimulates the vaginal wall which allows the inner wall to stretch and adapt to the different sizes of penis. Dr. Lauren Streicher, an associate professor from the Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, stated that the size of any penis and even a large baby do not influence the size of the vagina.

Another finding from experts showed that the vagina doubles in size during arousal period due to the dilation of the vaginal wall which leads to “tenting.” Dr. Debby Herbenick, associate director and professor from the University Of Texas School Of Public Health, described vaginal tenting as a process that occurs when the vaginal muscles tense. It pushes the uterus upward and expands the shape of the vagina during arousal.

There is no standard vulva for women since it varies from one woman to another. It can either be too loose or too tight or too dark or too light. However, the vagina of women are all accommodating, and no amount of sexual intercourse, multiple partners, and different sizes of a penis can alter the flexibility power of the woman’s love canal.
